Here at C4F we are all about community, our new monthly feature provides the opportunity to showcase and celebrate your creative achievements!
We are so excited to introduce Stacey Grant-Canham as our learner in the C4F spotlight this month.
Stacey is a fashion lecturer, creative consultant and fellow small business owner, inspired by feminism, women and storytelling.
As a designer who drew flats by hand at art school, Stacey struggled with Adobe Illustrator and avoided using the software altogether. Working with one of our expert tutors Stephen, their sessions focused on Adobe for Fashion and Accessory Design. Hoping to learn how to design with speed and precision, our online tuition was the perfect learning setting.
Stacey's confidence and ability have developed greatly, now feeling totally competent in tackling spec drawings, we can't wait to see Stacey's first tech pack come to life with Black and Beech's 'Feminist Icon Pyjamas in 2022!
"The offer is unique. It's completely industry focused. I didn't want to do a course in Illustrator by a graphic designer. I needed something totally for fashion which is what's on offer here." Stacey Grant-Canham
From apparel and accessories to print and books - Black and Beech is a design-led brand founded by Stacey Grant-Canham in 2016 - manufacturing from start to finish their product range focuses on the intersection of feminist fashion and motherhood.
Designing with ethics, awareness and storytelling in mind Black and Beech introduced a stunning slow fashion knitted accessory line for Christmas 2020 which was brought back again this year - we really recommend you give it a browse!
