This Learner spotlight shares the amazing achievements of the BA Fashion Business and Promotion students at Birmingham City University 🌟
Kickstarting Student Careers at Next
Tara Warby and Sophie Timmis, Fashion Business students at Birmingham City University impressed the heads of Buying at Next, by showcasing their incredible CAD skills.
Tara and Sophie presented their Menswear S/S 2023 range after developing their Illustrator skills through tutoring in Partnership with C4F. Prior to this Buying and Merchandising module, they had no experience with Illustrator and found tutoring crucial in understanding the finer details, and really having a new industry understanding of design.
After developing their incredible ranges, they were shortlisted for an amazing placement with the buying team at Next headquarters. This opportunity alongside their new-found illustrator skills developed valuable and transferrable skills which they look forward to applying throughout their future journey.
“The in-depth teaching allowed me to have a great experience, I have revisited the tutorials since and look forward to applying these skills in my final year!" Sophie Timmis.
“I was able to secure a Buying and Merchandising Placement at Next after pitching my CAD collection!” Tara Warby.
Tara and Sophie are now in their Final Year of university, still utilising and advancing their Illustrator skills!! C4F are so incredibly proud, and can't wait to see all the success the future brings.
