Adobe Illustrator for Fashion Design – Intermediate

13 April @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Take your design flats to the next level, add depth, movement, and shading all whilst getting faster and more confident in Adobe Illustrator. This Adobe Illustrator for Fashion course is for people at an intermediate level.
Is this Course for me?
This Adobe Illustrator for Fashion Design – Intermediate Course is a great follow on from our Beginner Course. If you have a good grasp of illustrator basics then this course will take your skills to the next level. If you are unsure if this course is right for your ability level, get in touch, we can talk things through and try our best to place you in a group with a similar level of ability.
Why Adobe Illustrator?
Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard in computer-aided design for Fashion Design. It has changed the way the industry works and saves countless time, money and sampling. The software allows us to clearly and accurately demonstrate technical details, design features, texture, colour, print, and pattern all whilst adding your own creative style. Think that CAD takes the creativity and skill out of drawing? It really doesn’t, it is just another type of medium and canvas on which to be creative – it also has an undo button!
What will I learn?
On this course you will learn the simplest and most effective methods, concentrating on easy editing and development. Get to grips with brushes, symbols, and shortcuts, speeding up your workflow and efficiency. Learn how to quickly create colour-ways, re-colour artwork, create patterns and textures all within Adobe Illustrator. If there is anything specific you would like to cover please let us know when booking.
If you think Adobe Illustrator could help your Fashion design business, but want a more tailored learning programme for you and your team get in touch here.
Course Outcome
Our courses are 100% practical, we will work at your pace and with your priorities in mind. The small class size will ensure you get plenty of one on one attention to make sure you get exactly what you need from the day. You will leave this course with more confidence and more tools at your disposal, making you a stronger, more efficient designer. Take home your completed, Adobe illustrator Garment Flat Range plan, on your complimentary CAD for Fashion USB stick, full of useful goodies to aid in your development.
What do I need to bring?
The teaching studio is set up for 4 students, and each workstation is equipped with an Apple iMac computer (don’t worry if you haven’t used one, they aren’t as scary as you might think!) and Adobe Creative Cloud software, provided by us, for your use on the day.
We will provide a FREE USB stick to save your work; packed full of useful handouts, templates and FREE Adobe Illustrator Brushes specific to Fashion Design. We will even supply you with that essential pen and paper for all the notes you will need to make! If you like to use a drawing tablet or have any additional aids you wish to bring, then please feel free to do so. I would advise you to bring the driver disc along with you.
Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day. Lunch is supplied from a local independent restaurant ’The Wonky Table’ – Food with heart and soul, using locally sourced produce. If you have any dietary requirements then please make them know when booking, or contact us and we will make arrangements.
