Is this Course for me?Whether you have a little knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or none at all, this course is for you! We do not believe in restricting access to those with little confidence using computers and starting from the very beginning in Adobe Illustrator for Fashion Design and learning things the right way is crucial. Get off on the right foot, and you will get to a higher level, much faster, and more importantly; get things done faster! Don’t waste any more time to do things the long way around. If you are unsure if this course is right for your ability level, get in touch, we can talk things through and try our best to place you in a group with a similar level of ability.
Why Adobe Illustrator?Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard in computer-aided design for Fashion Design. It has changed the way the industry works and saves countless time, money and sampling. The software allows us to clearly and accurately demonstrate technical details, design features, texture, colour, print and pattern all whilst adding your own creative style. Think that CAD takes the creativity and skill out of drawing? It really doesn’t, it is just another type of medium and canvas on which to be creative – it also has an undo button!
What will I learn? On the first day, we will create garment flats from scratch for either technical or design purposes, with perfect proportion and beautiful style lines. Learn how to easily create back views, buttons, zips, topstitching and more. Fashion designers who use Adobe Illustrator in the Fashion industry, will all have their own ways of getting the desired result, but on this course you will learn the simplest and most effective methods, concentrating on easy editing and development. On the second day, we will get to grips with brushes, symbols and shortcuts, speeding up your workflow and efficiency. Learn how to quickly create colour-ways, re-colour artwork, create patterns and textures all within Adobe Illustrator. If there is anything specific you would like to cover please let us know when booking. If you think Adobe Illustrator could help your Fashion design business, but want a more tailored learning programme for you and your team get in touch here.
